Teambuilding Share & Swap*

New Directors Orientation Course (NDO)

This interactive 8-hour course  is designed for seasonal and full-time camp directors with 0-2 years experience, or program directors and other camp supervisory staff who take an active part in camp leadership.  This course is ideal for staff in both day camp and resident camp settings.

The course covers core areas of camp management, with special focus offered on leadership, risk management, camper behavior, staff training, and staff supervision.  Primary focus is on details related to summer operation, though discussions also encompass off-season planning.

Taught by seasoned camp professionals, the NDO course will provide emerging professionals with the nuts and bolts needed to provide leadership for campers, parents, and staff at camp.  Registration fee includes lunch and all materials needed for the course.  Membership with ACA is not required for this course.
