Time's Running Out!

I hope you have enjoyed a great summer and are getting ready for fall. The deadline for “early bird” registration for the ACA Southeastern Camping Conference is quickly approaching. Conference prices increase after September 1.  Don’t miss out on this great educational and networking opportunity. Michael Brandwein, Jim Cain, Bob Ditter, and Peg Smith will all be there!  Visit the Exhibit Hall to talk with the vendors who provide so many services camps utilize – find out about the latest and the greatest!  Educational sessions being offered cover a variety of areas and topics.  The Riverboat Cruise and the infamous Live Auction are not to be missed. And, of course… there will be a campfire with guitars, s’mores, and singing!

The first Standards Course of the year will be held on September 24th at the Crowne Plaza in Jacksonville, just prior to the Fall Conference. There is no charge for this course, but pre-registration is required. You can print the form from the section web site, http://www.acasoutheastern.org/standards/stdsreg08.doc and fax or mail it.

Section Board Nominations for Vice President, Secretary/Delegate and 2 one year term delegates, in addition to district chairs for GA and NC are being accepted through October 15.  Check out http://www.acasoutheastern.org/members/board_nomination_08.php for more information.

Richard Louv, keynote speaker at ACA National Conference in 2006, will be speaking at Clemson University on Tuesday October 23 at 10 am.  His focus and presentation are incredibly relevant to camp directors and our profession.
