It is February 2, 2006! Okay… sorry to remind you of how time flies. Anyway, there are a few important things happening in ACA – at both the National and local levels.

As required by our Charter with ACA, Inc., ACA Southeastern periodically reviews and revises the By-laws that govern our Section. Your Section Board is in the process of this task and a draft copy of the revised By-laws were posted on the Web site on Wednesday, January 25. Please take time to review these and pass on your questions/comments to a board member or to the Southeastern office staff. These proposed By-laws will be voted on at the Breakfast Meeting on February 8, 2006 in Chicago. If you would like a printed copy of the By-laws mailed to you, please contact the Southeastern office at (919) 402-4336 or email info@acasoutheastern.org.

Please review the new/revised Accreditation Standards. Send any comments/concerns to Rhonda@acasoutheastern.org by the end of the week and those comments will be shared at the Open Hearings in Chicago.

With the recent merger of US Airways and America West, US Airways has adopted the policy stating: As of August 17, 2005, unaccompanied minors will no longer be accepted on connecting flights, direct (one-stop) flights with no change of plane, and "change of gauge" flights. Children ages 5 to 14 who are traveling as unaccompanied minors will be accepted by US Airways for travel only on nonstop flights. We understand this will effect many camps, as well as the traveling public. This issue has been brought to the attention of the ACA National Public Policy Committee. We will keep you posted as we know more. For now, we strongly recommend you let your parents know of this situation.

Remember to check out the Section website to see all of the GREAT upcoming gatherings, meetings, trainings available. Many are happening in February so do it now!
ACA Southeastern will have a great presence in Chicago. We hope to have the opportunity to meet you while there!
